Construction Bookkeeper
Location: Remote (Contractor - Based in the Philippines)

Atlantic Coast Construction Group is hiring a Bookkeeper (Construction) to own day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen SOPs and controls, and deliver clear reporting that supports multiple active projects across Florida and the Southeast.
Atlantic Coast Construction Group is a Jacksonville-based commercial contractor delivering ground-up construction, renovations, and specialized masonry services with a people-first, transparent approach. This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for A/P, A/R, payroll oversight, reconciliations, financial statements, construction billing support, and compliance, plus process improvements that help the accounting function scale. You'll work closely with the Controller and operations leaders to maintain financial clarity across projects and support smarter decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Reporting
- Own day-to-day accounting: A/P, A/R, payroll, bank/credit card recs, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and dashboards
- Maintain Work on Hand (WOH) reporting, cash flow forecasting, and leadership reporting cadence
- Ensure GAAP-aligned accounting and coordinate with external CPA/auditors for tax and reporting needs
Construction Accounting & Compliance
- Manage job costing and support project financial tracking across multiple projects
- Support PMs with AIA pay apps (G702/G703), change orders, and project billing
- Oversee certified payroll reporting, including Davis-Bacon/prevailing wage compliance (as applicable)
- Track compliance documentation: COIs, subcontract agreements, lien releases, and related forms
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Help develop and implement SOPs, internal controls, and scalable accounting workflows
- Supervise and support accounting/administrative staff as the team grows
- Identify inefficiencies and improve accuracy, timeliness, and visibility across financial operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)
- 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience (required)
- Construction accounting experience (required), job costing, and WIP/WOH exposure strongly valued
- QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise (required; this is not optional)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, payroll, and construction compliance workflows
- Confident communicator who can partner with operations and project teams
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time, W-2 Employment
- Remote, independent contractor role.
- Pay: $8.00 to $12.00 per hour, based on experience
